Shanghai Style Pork Belly

Cook time: 45 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

● 1 lb pork belly

● Salt and pepper to taste

● 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

● 2 cloves garlic, minced

● 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

● 1 red bell pepper, chopped

● 3 tablespoons black vinegar

● 2 tablespoons soy sauce

● 1 tablespoon brown sugar

● 1 teaspoon sesame oil

● 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Preparation:

Season the pork belly with salt and pepper to taste.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork belly and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Add in the garlic, ginger, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix together the black vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch.

Pour the mixture over the pork belly and vegetables. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat and vegetables.

Serve the Shanghai style pork belly over rice and enjoy!
